Medical imaging is a discipline within the medical field, which involves the use of technology to take images of the inside of the human body to assist doctors with examination and diagnosis. Images are created using painless techniques without the need to cut open the body. Medical imaging covers many disciplines and is used by most areas of the healthcare sector. In recent years the development of computer technology, twinned with advances in 3D medical imaging systems, has meant a growing use of new and ever more advanced image reconstruction and display. This program is designed to train young students to fill-up jobs as technicians in public and private hospitals and health provider centres. The students will be trained by professionals from UNISEL and hospitals to understand the theory aspects and get hands-on-experience for the various type of equipment of diagnostic imaging.

At the end of this programme, students should be able to:
- Acquire and apply basic knowledge on theoretical and practical concepts of biomedical and health science.
- Demonstrate proficiency in written and oral communication skills.
- Performed radiographic procedures with independent judgment and discretion, analyzed the finished radiograph for quality and critically evaluate radiographic and medical images.
- Identify and understand the importance of working in the safe working environment and understanding of the wider applications and the biological consequences of ionising and non-ionising radiation.
- Work as a team with other healthcare profession and foster good relationship with patiens and professionals.
- Apply the knowledge and skills in using latest medical and clinical technologies that assists and motivated radiographers in their clinical practice.
- Demonstrate professional behaviours that are consistent with the delivery of humanistic, moral, and ethical patient care.
- Demonstrate critical thinking skills and problem solving into social tasks, professional and issues related to the healthcare industry and educate patient in term of health issues.
