MESSAGE FROM PROGRAMME DIRECTOR

4th FACULTY OF ENGINEERING AND LIFE SCIENCES UNDERGRADUATE SYMPOSIUM (FELS-US) 2022

Assalamualaikum W.B.T and Greetings to All.

All praise to Allah, the Faculty of Engineering & Life Science FELS is organizing the “4th FELS Undergraduate Symposium FELS-US 2022” with the theme “Emerging Science and Engineering Towards Global Future Challenges” for the fourth time.

I and the Organizing Committee of the 4th FELS-US would like to humbly welcome all participants, keynote speakers, academic and industry panels to this important symposium. This symposium aims to provide a platform for final year student projects and research committee members to present their findings as well as share valuable experiences and knowledge to further enrich the field of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics.  

The 4th FELS-US provided poster presenters with the opportunity to present cutting-edge work and significant challenges currently being addressed in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) research. We also invited keynote speakers to share their expert perspectives in their fields, as well as external academic and industry poster evaluators to evaluate our final year project findings and communication skills of our students, through the 4th FELS-US.  

Previously, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, FELS-US 1.0 and 2.0 were conducted online, and FELS-US 3.0 was conducted on a hybrid platform. Due to the transition from pandemics to endemics of COVID-19, we are bringing you this symposium in a physical mode to overcome the barrier and limitation of the online and hybrid platforms. However, we are still not free of COVID-19; safety precautions such as social distancing and mask wearing must be prioritized. 

Finally, our team, members of the 4th FELS-US 2022 Committee, and I would like to apologize for any shortcomings or limitations that occurred during the symposium. Again, on behalf of the organizing committee, I would like to welcome you to 4th FELS-US 2022 and wish you the best of luck. I hope all participants will have an enjoyable time.
