Five academic staff from FELS were appointed as the judging and technical expert team for the Drone Piloting BattleβSTEM Nexus ASEAN Regional 2025 Competition held at Rizq Islamic School, Kajang.
This competition is organized by STEM Nexus, led by Rizq Educare, a dynamic education and innovation hub, supported by Audtech-Educare Alliance and Universiti Selangor, and was endorsed by Kementerian Pendidikan Malaysia.
STEM Nexus is the official Southeast Asia partner and feeder channel for the World Robotics Circuit (WRC). The competition featured 21 teams from 16 schools across the Central zone, which includes KL, Putrajaya, Negeri Sembilan, and Selangor.
It comprised three levels of challenges: the Maze Zone Challenge, the Barrier Zone Challenge, and the Final Zone. The winner will represent Malaysia in 2025 STEM NEXUS ASEAN championship that will be held in Australia. It is inspiring to witness the creativity, precision, and technical skill these young talents bring to the field.
This opportunity also benefited our engineering programme students, with seven of them selected to be part of the facilitator team. This experience enabled them to enhance their knowledge and skills gained throughout the programme, serving as a valuable added advantage before graduation
We hope the collaboration between UNISEL and Rizq Educare will continue to grow and strengthen through more exciting programmes and courses related to STEM, particularly in the field of drone technology.
