On 9 November 2025, the Faculty of Engineering and Life Sciences (FELS), UNISEL successfully held its first Introduction to Drone Operation for Beginners, an initiative proudly organized by the FELS Drone Team. This event marked an important step in promoting Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) education through interactive and hands-on experiences.

The short course aimed to spark interest and awareness in drone technology among school students, educators, parents and the wider community. It provided a platform for participants to learn the fundamentals of drone operation, flight control, safety protocols, and the real-world applications from its 1 hour theory session.

The event began with an inspiring opening and welcoming speech by Program Director Ts. Dr. Siti Birkha Mohd Ali, followed by words of support from our valued industry partner, Rizq Educare Sdn. Bhd., represented by Puan Rosheifa binti Rosdin.

The excitements sparked during the hands-on session and most awaited Drone Piloting Battle, where all participants were given the chances to experience handling and flying drone. The battle, named Round 1 and 2 had showcase participants technical skills in facing all the obstacles within the time given.

A total of 24 enthusiastic students from various schools across Selangor took part, including Sekolah Rendah Al-Islam Keramat, SAMT Tengku Ampuan Jemaah, SJKC Sungai Buloh, Sekolah Rendah Islam Hiraโ Klang, and SMK Seri Desa.
